The African Energy Business School is Africa's foremost institution for professional energy business education — built by practitioners, for practitioners.
To build the management and commercial capacity of Africa's energy workforce — equipping professionals at every career stage with the knowledge, tools, and networks they need to create lasting value in the sector.
To be the reference institution for energy business education in Africa — recognised globally for the quality of its programmes, the calibre of its alumni, and the depth of its contribution to Africa's energy development.
Africa's energy sector is producing and employing at scale. What it still needs is a generation of business leaders who understand the full commercial, regulatory, financial, and technical dimensions of the industry. AEBS exists to develop that generation.
The African Energy Business School was founded by energy practitioners who recognised that Africa's oil and gas sector was producing at scale but developing talent in silos — technical professionals who could not read a deal, commercial professionals who did not understand the subsurface, and leaders who had not been trained to navigate Africa's specific regulatory and geopolitical realities.
We set out to close that gap. Our founding team drew on direct experience across exploration and production, midstream infrastructure, energy finance, commodity trading, and regulatory affairs to design programmes that are relevant, rigorous, and immediately applicable.
AEBS is based in Africa, delivered for Africa, and designed by Africans who know the sector from the inside. Our faculty are active practitioners. Our case studies are drawn from the continent. Our alumni are transforming their organisations from within.
We hold our programmes to the same standard of intellectual rigour expected of postgraduate business education globally — because Africa's energy professionals deserve nothing less.
Every course is designed and delivered by professionals who are active in the field. We do not teach theory detached from practice.
Our case studies, regulatory frameworks, and strategic contexts are African. We prepare professionals for the realities of working in Africa, not the North Sea.
We are committed to expanding the pool of qualified energy professionals across the continent, regardless of geography, gender, or institutional background.
The African energy sector is changing rapidly. Our curriculum evolves to remain relevant — covering energy transition, digital transformation, and new regulatory regimes as they emerge.
We operate with transparency, ethical rigour, and professional accountability in everything we do — in our programmes, our partnerships, and our communications.
AEBS operates within a network of academic institutions, industry organisations, and research bodies that extend the value of our programmes to students and faculty alike.
Our flagship academic partnership is with Veritas University, Abuja, where the AEBS Research Centre supports joint research initiatives, faculty collaboration, and access to university infrastructure for our academic programmes.
We also maintain working relationships with energy industry bodies, regulatory agencies, and professional associations across West, Central, and East Africa.
